Joshua Lego followed up on a theft complaint at the store. A family argument over the weekend led a Lake Elmo teenager to stab a relative with a knife, puncturing the man’s lung and causing it to collapse and fill with fluid, according to charging documents filed Monday in Washington County District Court.The 17-year-old boy was charged Monday with first-degree felony assault in Washington County District Court. He was arrested Saturday afternoon after police were called to a house in the 10000 block of Third Street Place North around 3:15 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found the 33-year-old victim “bleeding from two stab wounds to his chest and upper back,” according to a news release from the Washington County Attorney’s Office.The victim identified the teen as his attacker and told deputies the two had gotten into an argument.At one point during the argument, the teen reportedly left the room and went to an upstairs bedroom. BENTON, Ill. - A man from rural Illinois was sentenced to 75 years in federal prison on Monday after being found guilty last fall of an online sextortion scheme that targeted underage girls.Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois said Michael Ferris, 44, was convicted in November 2022 on 25 counts of extortion and cyberstalking, as well as the production, distribution, and possession of child pornography.According to court documents, Ferris made fake Facebook accounts posing as a teen girl. He would join Facebook communities for teenagers and sexual abuse victims. Ferris sent unwanted messages to girls by pretending to be a teen looking for a new friend.If the teens answered, Ferris tried to get them to send him a nude picture of themselves or answer personal questions.
