Peel police are asking for the public’s assistance concerning a suspect after a shooting in Mississauga.On Sunday at approximately at 2:30 a.m. a shooting occurred near Glenn Hawthorne Boulevard and Hurontario Street in Mississauga.One victim suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital in critical, non-life-threatening condition.The suspect fled the area and the vehicle is described as a black Ford sedan.Police and investigators are asking anyone who potentially witnessed the incident in the area or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is making a long-awaited trip to China this week

WASHINGTON (AP) — Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will travel to Beijing Thursday as part of an ongoing Biden administration effort to thaw U.S.-China relations, a senior Treasury official said Sunday. Yellen, who has called the notion of an economic decoupling from China “disastrous,” has frequently said in the past year that she would like to visit China. She says the two nations “can and need to find a way to live together” in spite of their strained relations over geopolitics and economic development. Yellen will meet this week with Chinese officials, U.S. companies doing business in China and with Chinese people and will stay through July 9, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details of the trip. Price changes at the United States Postal Service are coming this month, with several items increasing in price to help USPS combat inflation.Starting next Sunday, a price increase of 3 cents will go into effect for forever stamps, one ounce letters, and postcards. AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are searching for a suspect involved in an east Austin shooting Sunday evening, police told KXAN.Police responded to a gunshot wound call at the intersection of Loyola Lane and Langston Drive, responding to the call around 6:46 p.m. Police told KXAN one adult male victim was found at the scene. AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) smashed a record for passengers Friday, heading into the 4th of July holiday weekend.AUS officials tweeted Saturday that the airport saw 37,192 departing passengers pass through on Friday, breaking a new record for AUS' second-busiest day ever.Per officials, the previous second-busiest day ever recorded was just earlier this year, on the Friday leading into the 2023 South by Southwest Conference & Festivals. That Friday saw 36,841 departing passengers.AUS staff said this marked the first time a 4th of July travel date landed into the airport's Top 5 busiest days ever recorded. LOUIS – Opening day for the 2023 summer season at Six Flags St. Louis was delayed a few hours on Sunday because of Saturday’s rain and wind.Power was knocked out by the storm, and employees had to do a little extra cleanup work to remove some downed tree limbs before opening the park to the public.Six Flags was scheduled to open at 11 a.m., but the fallout from the storm made that impossible.Some visitors were parked and waiting as early as 10 a.m. to get in for opening day.
