Why Martin Kilcoyne won't say no to Tim Ezell ST. LOUIS — In his TKO report, Martin Kilcoyne poses a rhetorical question. He wonders if you've ever been in a situation where a friend asks for a favor and you reluctantly agree, even though you'd rather not. In this case, Kilcoyne's friend, Tim Ezell, sent him a message asking if he could come over for some Halloween trick-or-treating. Kilcoyne recalled that Ezell asked, “Hey, come by your house for a little trick or treat?"Kilcoyne agreed, and Ezell arrived at his house around 6:30 a.m. "I can only imagine what the neighbors were thinking,” Kilcoyne said. “Why is there a camera crew banging on Martin's door?” Fortunately, Kilcoyne discovered that it was just “Uncle, Tim.”  St. Louis police investigate 6 sudden deaths Kilcoyne mentioned that even his sons got out of bed to go trick-or-treating with Ezell. “I used to bribe them with doughnuts just to get out of bed. Now it's a chance to be on TV. I think this is the aftereffects of the TikTok generation. Everyone ...

Broncos roundtable: Did Denver do right thing by standing pat at trade deadline?

Broncos roundtable: Did Denver do right thing by standing pat at trade deadline? Parker Gabriel, Broncos beat reporter: The NFL trade deadline came and went and the Broncos… didn’t end up doing anything. What looked a month ago like a sure-fire selling situation and perhaps a clearance sale instead turned into a hold. Denver, of course, is coming off back-to-back wins to get to 3-5, but on the other hand, they have just six selections in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft at present. So, was this the right move? Clearly, Sean Payton, George Paton and company didn’t feel like they got offered proper value for any of their key players. If they would have, we’d be roundtabling a different discussion.Without knowing the specifics of every conversation and offer received, I can understand standing pat. It’s not so much about the likelihood of going 7-2 or 6-3 and getting into the heart of the postseason picture, but more about the fact that most of the players in question have years on their contracts after this season. Conversations about whet...

Editorial: Denver’s schools need stable leaders. Here’s how to consider board candidates in 2023.

Published Mon, 16 Dec 2024 18:56:49 GMT

Editorial: Denver’s schools need stable leaders. Here’s how to consider board candidates in 2023. Denver’s public schools are in dire need of stable leadership. For years now, turmoil has dominated the district’s Board of Education. Board meetings are fueled by interpersonal drama rather than the important business of the district, at a time of deep unrest for students, teachers, principals, and parents. We urge Denver voters to consider a new path for the school board in the Nov. 7 election as they consider candidates to fill three school board seats – one at-large and two for the districts in southeast and central Denver.Mercifully, the at-large incumbent board director, Auon’tai Anderson, is not seeking re-election leaving that seat open for change.John Youngquist and Kwame Spearman are running neck and neck for the seat, and either will be a great improvement over current conditions if they stick to their pledges to be apolitical and make board business (staid and true) the only priority. A third candidate, Brittni Johnson, does not have a competitive public campaign effort. T...
