HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Raiders coach Josh McDaniels said quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo — whose availability because of an injured left foot was unknown until this past weekend — will not have any restrictions when Las Vegas opens training camp Wednesday.Garoppolo was cleared Sunday to practice after missing organized team activities and minicamp because of the injury he suffered last season when he was with the San Francisco 49ers. The Raiders signed him to a three-year, $72.75 million free-agent contract on March 17.McDaniels said that although Garoppolo wouldn’t have any restrictions, he also wouldn’t be expected to take all the first-team snaps the moment camp opens.“But we would never do that with anybody,” McDaniels said Tuesday. “There are a number of players obviously that had things in the spring, and (we’re) making sure that we’re just smart about how we re-integrate them to the totality of practice. Training camp is for everybody to get a lot of repetitions...Crews work through extreme heat to pave Denver roads

DENVER (KDVR) — Many outdoor jobs are seeing the impact of Colorado’s extreme heat. FOX31 learned how Denver crews are pushing through the high temperatures to pave.On Dakota Avenue, with temperatures on Tuesday hitting 94 degrees, the pavement was being crushed and thrown into trucks.“This is our prime construction season,” Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) Director Nancy Kuhn said. “This is the time that we can get out, get a lot of work done really fast, and then we have the environment to contend with.”Crews are dealing with heat from above and below with a mission of improving hundreds of lane miles in the city. Could a cooler July mean a better season for the Rockies? “Working next to this pavement is very hot, so not only are they working with hot equipment, but hot pavement as well, hot asphalt,” Kuhn said. "So they really are exposed to a lot of heat and so they really need to be careful.”In June, DOTI began sharing information with employees a...Sweltering temperatures have air condition technicians swamped

He's found that some units need minor repairs while others require major work.“It’s been 50/50. Some of them have been 'clean this thing up' or 'this thing is 40 years old, and I’ve got a refrigerant leak,'" Neidig told FOX31.To translate, this means some units can be fixed while others need to be replaced. FOX31 is told filters need to be changed often since the units can run year-round for both heating and cooling. Editor’s Note: Tonight’s blog was written by 7Weather intern Tyler Hughes. The Summer ’23 weather pattern just won’t give up – we had even more scattered showers and storms move through the area this afternoon. As the sun goes down this evening, those storms will lose steam and we’ll start to clear out later tonight. Luckily, tomorrow will buck the trend – for a day, at least – continuing to warm up with sunny skies throughout the day. A great day to hit the beaches if you have some free time – temperatures will run in the low 80s along the coastline with a nice breeze.Inland, expect temperatures to climb into the upper 80s to around 90. There may be a spot shower tomorrow afternoon as a result of the sunshine, but I think this is relatively unlikely. Another great spot to be tomorrow – Fenway! The Sox take on the Braves tomorrow night, and temperatures around first pitch will be in the mid 80s.We’ll continue to turn u...Boston man appears in court after arrest in connection with carjacking in Stoughton

Before the 2023 draft, the last time the Orioles selected a pitcher before the third round was in 2018 when they took a right-hander named Grayson Rodriguez No. 11 overall. The organization has displayed a clear preference for position players early in drafts since executive vice president and general manager Mike Elias took over in November 2018, with the Orioles using all 13 of their first- and second-round selections from 2019 to 2022 on hitters. That changed earlier this month when the Orioles selected Florida State right-handed pitcher Jackson Baumeister No. 63 overall in Competitive Balance Round B following the second round. Shortly before Tuesday’s 5 p.m. deadline for MLB teams to sign their draft picks, the Orioles announced they agreed to terms with Baumeister, who will be joining the No. 1-ranked farm system in the sport, according to Baseball America.Baumeister signed for just north of $1.6 million, according to a source with direct knowledge of the agreement.
