Dublin woman who allegedly ran ex-boyfriend over arrested for attempted murder

(KRON) -- A Dublin woman who police say deliberately ran a man over Tuesday night has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, according to the Mountain View Police Department. On Tuesday at around 10:30 p.m. Mountain View PD dispatchers got a call reporting a two-car crash at San Antonio Road and Central Expressway.Officers responded and at the scene found a 24-year-old East Palo Alto man injured. Investigating officers learned that a woman, identified as 24-year-old Alexis McBride, had allegedly hit the man deliberately with her car as both were driving along the road. LANETT, Ala. (AP) — A Georgia sheriff’s deputy was fatally injured Thursday morning when he was stuck by another law enforcement vehicle during a police chase that crossed into Alabama. The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Sheriff Eric Minix was killed after a pursuit by Georgia law enforcement of a stolen vehicle. The sheriff’s office wrote in a social media post that, “during the apprehension of the suspect Eric was struck by a police car and was pronounced dead at an area hospital.”“We have lost a good deputy. We have lost a good man. We have lost a good friend,” the sheriff’s office wrote. WRBL-TV reported that the crash occurred on Interstate 85 in Chambers County, which is on the Georgia-Alabama border. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the crash. A spokesman said they are working to gather additional information to release. (AP) — New Mexico State didn’t need to look far when searching for a new head football coach.Eleven days after Jerry Kill stepped down after two seasons with the Aggies, Tony Sanchez was officially introduced Wednesday as the program’s 36th head coach.Sanchez, 49, was a wide receiver for New Mexico State from 1994-95 and coached that position the past two years.The Aggies had a 7-6 record in 2022, winning the Quick Lane Bowl, then went 10-5 last season and played for the Conference USA championship.It marked the school’s first back-to-back bowl games since 1959-60.“Now there’s a new standard here,” Sanchez told reporters Wednesday. “We don’t want to win anymore, we expect to win. DENVER (KDVR) -- A Denver deputy has been suspended for 14 days after he fired his rifle inside his Commerce City home and the bullet went into his neighbor's house. Deputy David Steckman told Commerce City police and an investigator for internal affairs that he was practicing malfunction techniques with his duty rifle on the night of Aug. 21, when he pulled the trigger not realizing the rifle had a loaded magazine and a round in the chamber. (KDVR) — A ski instructor at Vail Mountain has died after he was found unresponsive on a run.According to a spokesperson with Vail Mountain, the 69-year-old male ski instructor was found unresponsive on the Born Free trail at 8:35 a.m. on Dec. 28, 2023.Vail Ski Patrol responded and immediately conducted life-saving efforts.
