L.A. Mission celebrates Christmas by giving back to the community It’s a Christmas tradition that has spanned decades. The Los Angeles Mission provided a holiday meal, beauty services and toys for less fortunate families and those experiencing homelessness.Some Hollywood stars and volunteers served the community by providing a holiday meal that included all the fixings like green bean casserole, sweet potatoes and glazed ham.Actor Ian Ziering brought his daughters to help volunteer at the event. Long Beach Police Department provides update after night of increased violence  The Long Beach Police Department is actively investigating several crimes that occurred in a 12-hour period throughout the city.  Several shootings, a stabbing and a fatal hit-and-run all took place in various parts of Long Beach on Thursday night and into Friday morning, police said. According to LBPD officials, the first incident was a “no-hit shooting” in the 1000 block of Gaviota Avenue at 7:38 p.m. Thursday evening.  Officers were dispatched to the area on a shots fired call, and when they arrived on scene, a male victim told them that another man approached him, shot at him and then fled the area. Homeless man found not guilty in assault case against ex-SF fire commissioner SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A man facing felony assault and battery charges against a former San Francisco fire commissioner has been found not guilty on all counts, the San Francisco District Attorney's Office confirmed Friday. Pacifica domestic stabbing victim identified (KRON) -- The man who was fatally stabbed in Pacifica on Thursday was identified as Ezra Raymond Pouech, 30, by the San Mateo County Coroner's Office on Friday.Pouech, an Oakland resident, was one of two people stabbed by Jason Gillenwater on Thursday at about 7:45 a.m., according to police. The other victim was hospitalized. Robbers are following shoppers home, Alameda police say Gillenwater, 46, was found dead in his car in Ukiah from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Thursday afternoon.The stabbing happened on the 200 block of Naomi Avenue. Nearby Vallemar Elementary School was placed on lockdown while Gillenwater was at large. Dara Olumi, 20, was last seen on Thursday at 5 p.m. walking on Avalon Drive in San Jose, the San Jose Police Department said on X. 3 hospitalized, including toddler, after fatal crash on Highway 152 near Gilroy Olumi is described to be 5-foot-8 tall and weighs 135 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes with stubble/unshaven facial hair, along with two bald spots on the back of head. San Jose man charged with homicide in connection to woman's death (KRON) -- A San Jose man who was already in custody in Santa Clara County Jail has been charged with homicide in connection to a woman who was killed earlier this month, the San Jose Police Department said. On Dec. 2 at approximately 5:16 p.m., officers responded to a residence on the 900 block of Thelma Way on a report of a possible deceased person. Robbers are following shoppers home, Alameda police say Arriving at the scene, officers found a woman with obvious signs of trauma. She was pronounced dead, police said.SJPD homicide detectives responded to the scene and began an investigation. Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified Ray Garcia, 28, of San Jose as the suspect.Garcia, who was already in custody, was charged on Dec. 22. This was the city's 31st homicide of 2023, SJPD said.
