Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected calls for a cease-fire. Though more than half of Gaza’s 2.3 million Palestinians have fled their homes, several hundred thousand remain in the north, where Israeli troops and tanks have reportedly advanced on multiple sides of Gaza City. The Palestinian death toll in the Israel-Hamas war has reached 8,525, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza. The German-born supermodel typically undergoes hours of makeup, emerging in past years as Fiona from “Shrek,” Jessica Rabbit from “Who Framed Roger Rabbit,” and last year’s giant rain worm.Klum made her grand entrance on the carpet accompanied by Cirque du Soleil performers. “A lot of planning goes into it,” she said. “First you have to have an idea. SAN DIEGO -- While real estate transactions slowed significantly last month, San Diego set a new record last week for the most expensive home ever sold in the county, with a property in Del Mar that went for over $44 million to an anonymous buyer. The number of homes sold in September reached the eighth lowest number in the region's history amid high interest rates and expensive prices that have largely held firm.“There’s more than 3 million people in San Diego County. In September, there were about 2,000 home sales, so that is a ridiculously low number of home sales for the amount of people who live here,” Philip Molnar, real estate reporter for the San Diego Union-Tribune, told FOX 5 Tuesday night. The slowdown in sales transactions has been a standoff with current homeowners enjoying sub-3% interest rates and not wanting to let go of their financial arrangements made during the emergency pandemic low-cost barrowing. San Diego takes top spot in ranking of most expensive places to...

SAN DIEGO -- A new fire-fighting AI tool developed by UC San Diego and Cal Fire is gaining national attention. The AI tool is called ALERTCalifornia and uses more than a thousand cameras placed throughout the Golden State to spot potential fires. Cal Fire started using the system at all their command centers on Sept. 1, 2023.Personnel with the agency told FOX 5 during a tour of the system on Tuesday that the tool is incredibly useful for fire crews to monitor fire behavior in real-time, helping with other public safety alerts like evacuation notices during a wildfire event. Brush fire breaks out near Rancho Bernardo “What’s nice about the AI is it does 24/7 monitoring, where it would be a lot for me to actually sit here and watch those cameras all day long,” Suzann Leininger, a CalFire intel specialist, said.If the AI detects smoke or fire, it will alert Cal Fire’s Command Center with a location and a percentage of certainty.“That dot .47 is telling me that (it has) a less than 50%...
