Man in custody after armed robbery at CVS, hour-long police chase into North suburbs

CHICAGO — An armed robbery at a CVS on the southwest side of Chicago led to hour-long police chase ending in the North suburbs with a suspect in custody. The robbery that happened at a CVS pharmacy in the 8600 block of South Cicero Avenue on the southwest side on Saturday afternoon. Police say the man walked into the store and held an employee up at gunpoint before demanding money from the register. The employee complied with the demands and after receiving the money, police say the man then fired a shot into the ceiling of the business. Teen killed in shooting on Far South Side An hour-ling police chase ensued on I-94 as the suspect was headed towards the north suburbs. Police attempted to stop the car with spikes and attempted to close multiple off-ramps.Wisconsin police was waiting with spike strips in Kenosha County in case the suspect made it that far. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia 76ers guard Kelly Oubre Jr. sustained undisclosed injuries after being struck by a vehicle Saturday, the team said, and is expected to miss significant playing time.The 27-year-old Oubre was transported to a hospital in stable condition after being hit, and released a few hours later. The team says he is not expected to miss the rest of the season but did not provide information on his injuries.The Sixers said Oubre was walking near his residence in downtown Philadelphia when he struck.
