Dear Readers: Like you, I’m often curious about what happens to the advice I offer once it leaves my desk, and so I’ve asked readers to send in “updates” to let all of us know how my advice was received, if it was followed, and how things turned out.The responses have flowed in, and I’m interested and often gratified to learn what impact this experience has had on readers. This year I celebrate my 20th year of writing this column. Publishing these updates reminds me that we have been through a lot over these past decades. Some of these updates read like postcards from old friends, and I’m happy to share them.(It’s important to understand that most of these updates offer a positive outcome. I assume this is because when things go well, people are more willing to share their experience.)To refresh all of our memories, I’m running the original Q&A, followed by the update.Dear Amy: I am one of six adult siblings. We gather once or twice a year in a low-key kind of way to stay connect...Europe to accelerate arms shipments to Ukraine, EU industry chief declares

The European Union is speeding up arms deliveries to Ukraine in support of the country's counter offensive against Russian forces, EU industry chief Thierry Breton (pictured) said on Sunday (18 June) in an interview with the French daily Le Parisien."We are going to step up our efforts to deliver arms and ammunition-- this is a war of high intensity in which they play a crucial role," Breton said, citing a pledge to supply a million high-calibre weapons over the next 12 months."We are preparing for the war to last several more months, or even longer," he added.Ukraine launched a counteroffensive earlier this month to retake territory from Russian forces, and US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin last Thursday (15 June) urged Kyiv's allies to "dig deep" to provide more arms and ammunition.Former Trump attorney John Eastman’s law license trial raises big questions

John Eastman sat between his lawyers — a laptop open before him, a pen and pad within easy reach — as the California State Bar put him on trial early Tuesday, June 20, for alleged “dishonesty and moral turpitude.”Eastman, former dean of Chapman University’s law school and alleged architect of Donald Trump’s attempts to reverse his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden, wore a dark suit, occasionally peering over his glasses at the judge who’ll decide if he loses his law license.Did Eastman knowingly make false statements about election fraud leading up to the Jan. 6 insurrection? Did he intentionally file “frivolous” lawsuits misstating facts in courts? Will he lose his law license?Answers aren’t expected until Eastman’s disciplinary trial concludes on June 30. But the widely-watched legal event — a prelude of sorts to what might loom for Trump, Eastman and others if they ever wind up in criminal courts — kicked off Tuesday before California State Bar Court Judge Yvette Roland, with Eastm...How deep the ocean is at the Titanic wreckage might surprise you

Officials are in a race against time to find a civilian submersible that had five people aboard after it went missing Sunday in the North Atlantic while voyaging to the wreckage of the Titanic. The 21-foot vessel has four days of emergency capability, the leader of search and rescue efforts said Monday afternoon, as crews with the U.S. and Canadian coast guards continued scouring the ocean’s surface about 900 miles east of Cape Cod and used sonar to listen for sounds far below the water. The missing explorers sailed 350 miles to the coordinates of the wreck and were to spend eight days on board the ship, taking it in turns to complete the eight-hour submarine mission to The Titanic. Here’s a look at the ocean where the Titanic went down on April 14, 1912. She said that she and her son “agreed that the more information children have, the more empowered they can be, and in his words, be a better friend.”But longtime Glendale resident Dede Vena, who does not have children in school in the district, said, “The school district is shoving their ideology...Man arrested, accused of yelling ‘gun’ and causing panic at California mall
