Caught on camera: Mountain lion strolls through Genesee yard Mountain lion on Blink camera (Photo credit: Sherri Teter)DENVER (KDVR) — Nothing says Colorado like a mountain lion walking down the patio of a residential home.Wildlife at front doorsteps isn't unheard of near this resident's home in the Riva Chase community. The house sits on two acres in the Genesee area and has seen a lot of wildlife, but it's usually bunnies and squirrels. This is how much your Thanksgiving meal will cost this year Occasionally, there will be elk, deer and turkeys on the property as well. This time, the home's Blink camera caught a different creature, and this one was a bit more dangerous than a squirrel or bunny. On the Blink camera, a mountain lion treks across the yard like it's his home. Do you need to cook a turkey longer in Colorado? While mountain lions can be dangerous, they're more of a threat to deer than to people. Denver homes are 120% more expensive than 10 years ago DENVER (KDVR) — Home values in three Colorado metro areas have more than doubled in 10 years, according to data from online real estate marketplace Zillow.FOX31 looked at data from the Zillow Home Value Index, which measures the typical home value in a given region, to see how home values have grown in Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs over the past five, 10 and 20 years. These values include condos and co-ops, in addition to single-family homes. China ‘strongly opposes’ Biden’s dictator remark China’s foreign ministry denounced President Joe Biden’s comment Thursday calling Chinese President Xi Jinping a “dictator” for the second time this year.“This statement is extremely wrong and irresponsible political manipulation,” foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning told reporters on Thursday, according to Reuters.China’s foreign ministry said it “strongly opposes” Biden’s remarks, without mentioning him by name. “It should be pointed out that there will always be some people with ulterior motives who attempt to incite and damage U.S.-China relations, they are doomed to fail,” she said. When asked by a reporter on Wednesday if Biden still believed Xi was a dictator, Biden stood by the assessment that he made earlier this year.“Look, he is. He’s a dictator in the sense that he’s a guy who runs a country that is a communist country,” Biden said during a news conference, just after he announced agreements on a number of confidence-building measures with his Chinese co...

EU closing eyes to Belarus sanctions loopholes, opposition leader says MÁLAGA, Spain — The EU is wilfully ignoring flaws in its sanctions regime against Belarus, said the country’s opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.“The sanctions have such huge loopholes that they don’t work effectively,” Tsikhanouskaya told POLITICO in an interview at an international meeting of social democrat parties in Spain.Brussels slapped waves of sanctions on Alexander Lukashenko’s authoritarian regime in Belarus after the sham presidential election of 2020, the hijacking of a Ryanair plane and the instigation of a migration crisis on the EU’s borders in 2021. Lukashenko has also supported Russia’s war against Ukraine since 2022. EU sanctions on Belarus range from targeting the air travel, financial and arms sectors to hydrocarbons, timber and potash exports. But those sanctions are often circumvented, Tsikhanouskaya said, including sanctioned Belarusian birchwood being exported to the EU by being labeled as coming from Kyrgyzstan. “It’s no...
