CHICAGO - He was there before the dynasty, during it, and then tried to create his own in the front office of the team.Since the mid-1980s, John Paxson has seen it all when it comes to the Chicago Bulls. He was a guard next to Michael Jordan in his formative years in the NBA through his time becoming one of the best to ever play the game. He was a key part of the Bulls' first "Three-Peat" in the early 1990s, was an assistant briefly for Phil Jackson, then became a broadcaster during the final three titles of the 1990s.In 2003, he took over for Hall of Famer Jerry Krause as the Bulls' general manager and remained in a prominent basketball operations role with the team through 2020. Now he's a senior advisor to basketball operations as the team starts a new era under executive vice president Arturas Karnisovas and Marc Eversely. NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (WJW) — Doctors are crediting an Ohio teenager with helping to save his mother's life after she suffered a medical emergency. Kim Morales of North Olmsted has been a fierce protector of her 15-year-old son, and has fought for Jaxon, who has autism, to receive the best of everything, starting with his education. Jaxon told Nexstar's WJW, "I mean, she means everything to me, she's like the whole world to me, I love her very much and I would not want to be away from her ever." Kim Morales is a Type 1 diabetic and, last week, was feeling sluggish and asked her son to get her snacks and juice. A short time later, Jaxon noticed that his mom seemed to be unresponsive. AUSTIN (KXAN) -- One person is dead after reports of a vehicle-pedestrian crash in northwest Austin Tuesday, Austin-Travis County EMS said in a tweet.Shortly before 9:30 p.m., ATCEMS medics and the Austin Fire Department responded to the crash at 12300 North Farm-to-Market Road, the tweet said.Medics said CPR was in progress on one adult patient who was later pronounced dead on the scene, according to the tweet.Furthermore, medics said drivers should expect extended road closures around the scene and seek an alternate route, if possible.It was not immediately clear what caused the crash, which remained under investigation Tuesday.314 Day celebrations take over Ballpark Village

ST. LOUIS - Ahead of Friday’s huge St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the Dogtown neighborhood, one business in the area is changing owners. Joe Jovanovich, the owner of The Pat Connolly Tavern, says his family is selling the business.“It wasn’t something we were looking for necessarily, but we were approached with this opportunity," Jovanovich said. ROSEBUD, Mo. - A fallen Hermann police officer, Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith, is remembered by hundreds in a candlelight vigil Tuesday night in Rosebud.The community of Rosebud packed the red barn event space off Highway 50 at 7 p.m., showing their support for the Griffith family. Among the attendees were members of multiple law enforcement agencies that he was a part of.The vigil started with speakers including the mayor, sheriff, pastor, and a local alderman who was a close friend of Griffith. A Texas man whose body was found inside a pickup truck along Interstate 25 in Colorado Springs was gagged and his hands and feet were bound with duct tape and zip ties. He was shot up with heroin and left to die, according to a coroner’s report.On Dec. 20, police found 30-year-old Ivan Maldonado, of Dallas, inside an abandoned and disabled GMC Sierra with Texas plates near the Martin Luther King Jr. Bypass in the southbound lanes. The front passenger tire of the truck was flat, and the back passenger door on the driver’s side was open.“Multiple articles of clothing covered the gagged and bound decedent who was found on his knees and face down between the back floorboard and back seat of the vehicle,” according to an El Paso County Coroner’s Office autopsy report on Maldonado’s death, which has been ruled a homicide.Maldonado suffered blunt injuries to his head and neck, according to the report.
