Joyride Brewing sued one of its co-owners Friday, saying he racked up $420,000 in “unneeded and unapproved” debt and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in brewery money to pay bills and expenses for two other businesses, including a well-known club.The lawsuit comes two weeks after Joyride, 5217 W. 25th Ave. in Edgewater, announced that it had filed for bankruptcy protection. In that announcement, Joyride president and co-founder Dave Bergen said the move was the result of “malfeasance” by a former general manager.On Monday, Joyride identified that general manager as Grant Babb, who opened Joyride with Bergen in 2014. 17-Year-Old Girl Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Shelton RoadRIO VISTA, CA (December 4, 2023) – Lilly Butler died Wednesday afternoon in a head-on crash on Highway 26 and Sheldon Road.Dispatchers responded to the scene at approximately 2:45 p.m., in an unincorporated part of Valley Springs.According to reports, a male driver attempted to overtake slow-moving westbound traffic by utilizing eastbound lanes. Two-Truck Collision near Churn Creek Intersection Kills 78-Year-Old Redding ManREDDING, CA (December 4, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a pickup truck collision on Hartnell Avenue took the life of Jose Luis Zuno.According to the investigators, an eastbound 2005 Chevy Silverado collided with a 1999 Silverado pulling out of a public driveway.Emergency personnel extricated the 1999 Silverado driver and transported him to a Mercy Medical Center where he later died.Later, the Shasta County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased driver as 78-year-old Jose Luis Zuno of Redding.Following the crash, police arrested the 2005 Silverado driver, 31-year-old Daveiontay Ivon Norwood of Redding, for DUI. SAN JOSE — Police said a woman was found dead at a home near Coyote Creek in San Jose on Sunday evening in what appeared to be a homicide.In a news release Monday, San Jose police said that officers were called to a home on the 900 Block of Thelma Way around 5:16 p.m. on Sunday for a report of a dead person. Authorities did not say who had called to make the report.Upon arrival, officers found a woman with “obvious signs of physical trauma,” police said, though authorities did not say whether the person was found inside or outside the home. The San Jose Sharks placed forward Ryan Carpenter and defenseman Ty Emberson on injured reserve on Monday, adding to an already sizeable group of banged-up players.Emberson did not play Sunday in the Sharks’ 6-5 loss to the New York Rangers with what was described as a lower-body injury.
