A new atmospheric river brought heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds to California on Friday, raising the threat of flooding and disrupting travel.Flood advisories or warnings were issued by the National Weather Service for areas around the San Francisco Bay, the central coast and the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys. Southern California saw generally lighter rain. The atmospheric river, known as a “Pineapple Express” because it brought warm subtropical moisture across the Pacific from near Hawaii, was melting lower parts of the huge snowpack built in California's mountains by nine atmospheric rivers early in the winter and later storms fueled by a blast of arctic air. Southern California hit with more rain; NWS warns of possible flooding The snowpack at high elevations is so massive it was expected to be able to absorb the rain, but snowmelt was expected at elevations below 4,000 feet (1,219 meters), forecasters said. As the storm approached, Gov. Gavin Newsom declared sta...This AirTag-like tracker fits in your wallet

For all of the privacy concerns surrounding Apple's AirTags, they have turned out to be quite useful. People are using them to keep track of everything from pets to luggage. They've been out for over a year and a half now... which means if you have some, the batteries might need replacing.First, open the Find My App on iPhone and look for a low battery symbol. To replace it, pick up the AirTag, and with the Apple logo facing you, press and twist. The device takes a CR 2032 battery, those with bitter coatings might not work. (Bitter coatings make the batteries less appealing to kids who might put them in their mouth - the coating tastes so bad they are more likely to spit it out immediately.)Once you’ve replaced the battery, twist the back on again. If you hear a confirmation beep, that means you did it right. For a similar device that’s half the price, check out Walmart's onn Item Locator.I picked one up at Walmart for about $15 dollars, which is half the price of an AirTag.The neat thin...Tesla Driver Killed in Fire-Truck Collision on Interstate 680 [Walnut Creek, CA]

With news that Manhattan prosecutors may be ready to indict Donald Trump for his role in a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, it’s easy to wonder whether the former president would even be in this mess if he had stayed away from a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe in July 2006.By a number of accounts, including from Daniels, Trump “went wild” over four days at the annual American Century Celebrity Golf Championship, according to a detailed account of that weekend by GQ. Though newly married to Melania Trump, who had given birth to their son Barron four months earlier, the 60-year-old Trump reportedly didn’t hesitate to have a sexual encounter with Daniels, as well as an alleged dalliance with Playboy model Karen McDougal, who had recently become the real estate mogul’s mistress.LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – JANUARY 26: Adult film actress/director Stormy Daniels attends the 2019 Adult Video News Awards at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hot...49ers QB Brock Purdy has successful elbow surgery Friday, per report

Forty days later, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy underwent surgery Friday on the elbow ligament that was torn in their NFC Championship Game loss at Philadelphia.Early indications are that Purdy’s procedure went along the best-case-scenario path. His UCL was repaired with an internal brace by Dr. Keith Meister in the Dallas area, and that surgery should allow Purdy to resume throwing in three months, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo first reported.Such a recovery path could put Purdy on a six-month timeline for full clearance to practice and play, which coincides with the start of the 49ers’ regular season in early September. He won’t be participating in the offseason program that begins next month, however, and Trey Lance figures to serve as the 49ers’ first-string quarterback, as was the case a year ago.Purdy, 23, hoped to follow the elbow-surgery lead of former 49er Nick Mullens, who became the first NFL quarterback known to have a torn UCL repaired with a...Silicon Valley Bank collapses after failing to raise capital

Silicon Valley Bank collapsed Friday morning after a stunning 48 hours in which its capital crisis set off fears of a meltdown across the banking industry.California regulators closed down the tech lender and put SVB in control of the US Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
